Wolf Creek Pass & Lobo Overlook
(~30 mins from Pagosa)
Take a scenic drive up Highway 160 over the Continental Divide for some of the most spectacular mountain vistas in Colorado. Drive up the dirt road to Lobo Overlook (at 11,760 feet) for breathtaking, 360-degree views of the San Juan Mountains, alpine wildflowers, and endless hiking trails.
Summitville Ghost Town Loop

Step back into Colorado's rich 1870s gold mining era with a scenic high-country loop. Sitting at over 11,500 feet, Summitville offers a fascinating look at preserved historic structures, abandoned mining equipment, and sweeping alpine views nestled high in the San Juan Mountains.
Elk Migration
Twice a year off 160 between Pagosa and Durango  Spring and Fall (late October thru early Dec when snow in higher altitude)  (May thru June when snow is melting they are migrating back up Mtns) On Hwy 160 near mile markers 126 and 128- just west of Chimney Rock) go to website to find trails and public viewing areas.
The Bachelor Loop
